Held in the beautiful and exotic Porto Santo Island, the "Meia Maratona de Colombo" ("Columbus Half Marathon") goes along the city's main road, in a course of rare and envied beauty. In a paved and 100% flat road, the race develops itself by the sea front, parallel to the nine kilometres of golden sand, that embellish the island's southern coast. Situated in the Atlantic Ocean, Porto Santo Island is one of the Portuguese islands that integrate the Madeira Archipelago, and it is also known by its quietness, warm and bright blue sea water, perfect for a nice family or romantic holidays.
