Jamestown Half Marathon - Jamestown (Usa/Rhode Island)
The "Jamestown Half Marathon" course circumvents nearly all of picturesque Conanicut Island, providing sweeping views of Narragansett Bay and the Newport Pell Bridge - the largest suspension bridge in New England. The course features vivid landscapes, winding roads, historic Watson Farm as well as the village of Jamestown with its small shops and quaint restaurants. The race starts in Fort Getty, winds past Mackeral Cove, heads straight across the island before the decline into Jamestown Village, then following the east side of the island. It cuts through a beautiful neighborhood before coming up the west side of the island where runners will enjoy views of windmills, estuaries and farms before finishing back at Fort Getty. There is one small section of unpaved road before mile 2 and a long incline around miles 9 and 10.
